The Coach Lanza Memorial Cup is a unique soccer tournament for recreational and competitive players and teams. Players can register with a team or individually and will be placed on balanced teams based on playing level to ensure competitive games and plenty of playing time.

The tournament honors Coach William Lanza Sr., a VA/DC Hall of Fame youth coach, Vietnam Marine veteran, and longtime referee and educator. In his memory, a $500 scholarship will be awarded to one player and one referee, selected at random.

Coach Lanza Memorial Cup Soccer Tournament is supported by the Youth Premier Soccer League (YPSL) and Fusion Grassroots Soccer Leagues participating across Northern Virginia. YPSL teams register as full teams, while Grassroots Soccer players register individually and are placed on balanced teams. Even if you only have half a team, players may sign up individually and request to be placed together; remaining roster spots will be filled with players of similar ability from Grassroots Soccer programs to ensure competitive play and ample playing time.
